616 Module 14 AAU Spring Final May 2021
Wow, where do I begin? February, 2021, this was the year that it all turned around for me, especially in the field of further advancement in my photography. By working with my intentions first, each photography session went a lot better, especially when the 'props' worked with the image to refine or change the story intention.
With this series, "I'm only happy when it rains" (by the band Garbage), it all came together. Utilizing spare items in my trunk, this fun 'candy' umbrella really worked with the skateboarding in the rain intention. After reviewing and scoring my images, it was clear that I'd have a hard time selecting 3 images for this series. Some of the postproduction tools really allowed me to spend hours and hours refining, or scrapping an image.
Sepia is one of my favorites, and it was time for me to experiment and recreate something from an ordinary image of a girl and a skateboard, into an image someone might want for their album cover (hey I can dream big:). Although I'm not a "Maggie Taylor" yet, it's good to see other artists as passionate about photography. I'm getting the hang of layers, hence, the multiple layers in each image. I will continue to expand my techniques while working with graduate students, graduate children, couples, animals, abstracts and people in different living scenarios. The Art of Seeing truly is my life, and I just want to capture it all the time.
Thank you Marc for all the attention to detail you taught me, and your positive approach to my work. Because of your positive teaching style, you helped me grow and flourish instead of crawling into a cave and getting down on myself. You really made virtual learning a pleasant surprise, and efficient way to move us forward in this wonderful world of art.
These are a sample of different sepia, b&w, and zooms., knowing that I'll be back to critique these further:)
